The Teashop at Ambermere

By Elsie Wren

A Quiet Village. A Curious Key. A Door to the Unexpected.

Welcome to Ambermere, where the tea is strong, the windows glow golden with afternoon sun—and the cellar beneath the teashop holds more than dust and cobwebs.

Retired cartographer Clara Bell moves to the sleepy village of Ambermere seeking calm and comfort, not adventure. But when an unmarked key appears on her windowsill, followed by a stranger asking the wrong kind of questions, Clara finds herself drawn into a quietly magical mystery only she can map her way through.

Also available in EPUB, Kindle, and PDF formats.

About the Book

In The Teashop at Ambermere, the quiet comforts of a small village blend seamlessly with the tug of mystery and soft adventure.

After decades spent drawing the maps others used to explore the world, Clara Bell has retired to the countryside to open a teashop and live out her days in peace. The rhythms of Ambermere are gentle—familiar faces, the smell of fresh scones, shelves of well-loved books. But when an unmarked brass key appears on her windowsill, Clara’s carefully laid plans begin to unravel.

Drawn into the forgotten corners of her new home, Clara uncovers old secrets, strange symbols, and a doorway hidden for nearly a century. With the help of a reluctant historian, a mischievous tabby cat, and her own long-dormant curiosity, she must decide: is she truly done with adventure, or has it just begun?

About the Author

“I wanted to write something soft and a little strange—about quiet lives, second chances, and how magic often waits in the margins.”

Elsie Wren writes what she calls “quiet stories with unexpected corners.” Her work blends cozy atmospheres, introspective characters, and just enough magic to tilt the world slightly off balance.

Before writing fiction full-time, Elsie spent years as a librarian and part-time bookseller. She’s drawn to stories where the small things matter—a warm cup of tea, a handwritten letter, a walk at dusk. When she's not writing, she’s often found foraging old bookshops, collecting maps she’ll never use, or baking overly ambitious scones in her small kitchen in the Cotswolds.
